I got this series for my daughter for her 8th birthday. She loves to read and has been flying through the Magic Treehouse Series. We have been reading the Chronicles of Narnia together, and I thought this would be a fun next series to try. I was looking for a solid Christian series that had fantasy and wonder, but without the new trend of token characters that are not currently age appropriate in my opinion. This series is perfect! There is character depth, the villain (Soren) is so creepy but mirrors the way the temper tries to manipulate us in our own lives. He masquerades as a friend, and like he cares, then he turns when he doesn't achieve his goal. Reading it together has been so much fun because we can talk about the correlation between God, humanity, and the devil in a candid way and she can explain her connections. So far it is a love - we are on book two and can sit reading for hours together. She is super excited to try the dragon series next.

My 13 yr old daughter LOVED these books! She insisted on staying in her room for 3 days while she devoured these books! Her younger sibling is reading them now, and while she isn't reading as fast, she loves them as well.
So thankful for books I can let my kids read and not feel worried about any questionable content. Thank you for that!

My daughter is not a reader, but she read all the Millie Maven books and is now working her way through the other series. I’m thankful that she found a book series that intrigues her imagination. Also, my daughter has very poor vision. So, she loves the larger print! All in all, these books were a great find and I look forward to reading them too.
